Help for Academic Writers

A host of issues can confront the academic writer trying to start or finish a writing project. Writer’s block, unproductive professional distractions,  unrealistic expectations, self doubt, and simple procrastination can keep us from getting our work done.  Kerry Ann Rockquemore’s “Taming Your Inner Critic” piece in the July 26, 2010 issue of Inside Higher Education has several insights and suggestions  for accomplishing your writing goals. I recently ran across this list of “Positive Affirmations for Academic Writers” (pdf), many of which hit home.
